Zoning, Planning & Enforcement

Zoning Board

The Zoning Board guides the future growth of the Village in accordance with a general plan which is developed to ensure the most beneficial and coherent relationships among residential, nonresidential and public areas.

Zoning regulations are set in place to guide the character, social, and economic stability of the Village.

What is a Variance?

A variance is a request to deviate from current zoning requirements. If granted, it permits the owner to use his land in a way that is ordinarily not permitted by the zoning ordinance. It is not a change in the zoning law but a waiver of a certain requirement of the zoning ordinance.
